The Flamenco and Multi-Cultural Arts Caravan of (a.k.a. Flamenco Caravan and FCaravan) officially started in early 2003 through the efforts of a few Ohio State students who happened to also be devotees of the art of flamenco. Since then, groups with a variety of multi-cultural art interests have been involved with Fcaravan’s events. Along the way, we have learned about various folk art forms, through workshops, concerts, and interactive work with artists. We invite all interested Ohio State University and Columbus, Ohio community members to join our organization, despite their “level” in a given art. We seek to promote learning, education, communication, and collaboration in arts, rather than a semblance of perfection. In addition, we invite those interested anywhere in the world to join our electronic community by emailing us.

We also seek to:

• Bridge gaps between the Ohio State and Greater Columbus communities.

• Introduce flamenco and other folk arts to the Ohio State communities.

• Remind and remember that folk arts are not only for performance but also to create social linkages among participants and observers.

• Create a multi-cultural environment in which all folk artists are welcome to thrive
